Upper School Orientation, August 10, 2017, 10:00 a.m.-Noon, Headwaters Campus

In preparation for the year, we will host a student-only orientation on Thursday, August 10, from 10:00 a.m. - noon at the Headwaters Campus for all upcoming 6th graders. Students should arrive between 9:50-10:00 am.and be picked up at 12:00 p.m. Snack provided.

Orientation is intended for STUDENTS only. The goal of the event is to become familiar with our campus, get to know at least 10 new people, and learn more about LILA. All Orientation participants should:

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
  • Bring a water bottle.
  • Wear sunscreen.

Upper School Open House, August 10, 2017, 3pm-7pm, Headwaters Campus

Students and parents can stop by anytime between 3:00-7:00pm, Thursday, Aug. 10, to walk through your student's schedule, meet teachers, check out iPads, and manage locker combinations. See you there!

Upper School Spring Music Concerts, Monday, May 15

Mark your calendars! Upper School Music Concerts are Monday, May 15, featuring the world premier of our commissioned piece, "Oil and Water."

  • 6:00 pm - Beginning Choir, Beginning Orchestra, and Intermediate Choir
  • 6:50-7:20 pm - Intermission
  • 7:20 pm - Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Advanced Band

The second concert concludes with the orchestra and band together to perform "Oil and Water."

"Seussical Jr." Performances Feb. 24-26

LILA's winter musical, "Seussical Jr.," will be performed in LILA's Main Campus gymnasium on Friday, February 24 at 6:00 pm; Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm; and Sunday, February 26 at 2:00 pm. No tickets required and no charge for admission (free will donations are gratefully accepted).


Chinese New Year Celebration On Thurs., Jan. 19, 5-8p.m.

Join us for a fun and exciting evening of student performances, crafts, and Chinese food at the Main Campus!

Xīnnián kuàilè! (新年快乐) means Happy New Year! It's pronounced "sshin-nyen kwhy-luh." 2017 is a Year of the Rooster. Years of a Rooster include 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, and 2029; your Chinese zodiac sign is a rooster if you were born in those years. Roosters are trustworthy, hardworking, tender, determined, quick-witted, and compassionate.

Traditionally, families begin cleaning their homes and preparing for the festivities about a week or so before. The actual start of the 15-day Chinese New Year celebration is January 28. Learn more at
