Since 2004, parents have chosen Lakes International Language Academy (LILA)  to help guide their children toward becoming responsible, caring, informed, curious, and engaged global citizens. Students gain the knowledge and good study habits that come from the rigorous International Baccalaureate program as they develop literacy and proficiency in their second (or third) language and English. Along the way, LILA students learn to appreciate the world and its many cultures. They are prepared for greater challenges in their academic journey, and ready to make an impact in their communities and the world.  

LILA, a tuition-free K-12 public charter is located in Forest Lake, MN, a growing suburb approximately 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities. Here, you’ll find robust community with an excellent public library, a YMCA, ample shopping, and numerous recreational amenities including the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail, municipal and private golf courses, and several neighborhood trails and parks. Lakeside Park is located on the shores of Forest Lake, right downtown. It is a popular gathering spot for the community and features a beautiful picnic area, swimming beach, and recently remodeled playground. It is particularly busy on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Arts in the Park is family friendly event featuring a farmers’ market, live music, children’s activities, and year-end community corn feed.
