Method of Pick-Up Form - Complete this form for students in grades K-5 only. 

• This form must be on file with the LILA transportation coordinator. 
• After initial submission, a new form only needs to be completed if pick-up circumstances change. 

Childcare/Change in Student Pick-Up/Take Home Form - Complete this form if your child requires transportation by bus to or from any location other than your home. This includes, but is not limited to: 

• Transportation to childcare. 
• A change in legal residence within ISD #831 - Forest Lake Area Schools boundaries.
• Please allow at least three days to process this request.  
• This form must be complete annually. 
• NOTE: Children are currently not allowed to ride a bus that has not been assigned to them as a regular route - e.g. to a friend’s house.

Student Bus Enrollment Form - Complete this form if your student lives in ISD #831-Forest Lake Area Schools boundaries and will need bus transportation to and/or from school. 

Walk or Bike To/From Home - Complete this form for students in grades K-5 only, if applicable. It provides parent/guardian permission for the student to: 

• Walk to and/or from school. 
• Ride their bike to and from school.

Forms may be dropped off at school or emailed to transportation@MyLILA.org.

Why Silent Dismissal? 

• Safety: Your child’s well-being is important to us! Adults participating in pick-up are required to provide the correct information to depart with a child. It also ensures your child arrives at the proper destination. 
• Convenience: You are able to authorize changes at the touch of a button. No more phone calls or paper notes! Changes MUST be made by 11:00 a.m. to ensure your child arrives at the proper destination. 
• Less Wait Time: Analytics allow us to decrease the amount of time spent waiting in line at pick-up. 

It’s As Easy as 1, 2, 3! 

1. Create your account. 

• You will need a valid email address, and student Reference and Code to create an account. Contact the transportation coordinator to secure a Reference and Code for your child. 
• Be sure to enter the Reference and Code exactly as you see them as they are case sensitive. Do not include the hyphen. 

2. Add additional students, if applicable

3. Sign in  and set up your weekly schedule. 

• The default for every student is Pick-up Only. 
• If your child will be walking, biking or taking the bus, make the appropriate selection and save. NOTE: Lower School walkers and bikers must obtain principal approval and have a completed Walk/Bike Form on file. Students MUST live within reasonable walking distance for this option.  
• If your child is attending Explorer Club, you must schedule your care directly with them. 
• Double check the days of the week, and other details, once you’ve made your selections.

 Silent Dismissal Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What happens if I lose my tag?
A. Keeping your tag in your car is the most reliable option. If you do misplace it, contact the transportation coordinator for a replacement. 
Q. Can I make copies of the tag we received to put in each vehicle?
A. Yes. We recommend that you share a copy only with your carpool families, grandparents, or other people approved to pick up your child.
Q. Can I change my schedule in the Silent Dismissal app?
A. Yes, but you must make the requested change prior to 11 a.m.
Q. How do I make a one-time change?
A. Use the "OVR" [Override] button. The edit button [Pencil] is used to make permanent changes only. Scroll to the bottom and click the "Save" button.
 

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Map

Morning Curbside Drop-Off - Preschool & Kindergarten          

• To remedy traffic congestion on 11th Ave. & Hwy. 61, vehicles should approach Kinder Center on 1st Street from the north. From Lower School, take one of the side streets along 11th Ave. to 8th Ave. Proceed to 1st Street to approach Kinder Center from the north.
• Cars may not enter the Kinder Center lot until 7:30 am.  The lot is reserved for buses only from 7:20-7:30 pm.
• Pull up as far as safely possible in the drop-off  line before unloading.   
• Stay in your vehicle unless you need to assist your child out of their carseat. Allowing staff to assist children out of the vehicle, when possible, ensures the drop-off drive through flows as quickly and smoothly as possible. 
• If you need to get out of your vehicle to bring your child into the building, please park in the lot and drop off after 8:15 am.    

Afternoon Curbside Pick-Up - Preschool & Kindergarten    

• As with morning drop-off, vehicles should approach Kinder Center on 1st Street from the north. 
• Cars may not enter the Kinder Center lot until 2:00 pm.  The lot is reserved for buses only from 1:50-2:00 pm.
• Line up along 1st Street. If traffic is moving, please keep moving. If traffic is stopped, leave a gap where indicated - DO NOT BLOCK the driveway to Family Pathways, Batteries Plus, or the parking area behind Roxy's Total Image. 
• Have your Silent Dismissal pick-up number ready. 
• To ensure the safety of our students, staff and families, always pay attention to your surroundings and follow the directions from curbside staff. 
• Pull up as far as safely possible in the pick-up line before loading. Your student will be delivered directly to your vehicle. Please be as efficient as possible when loading.  

Home & Shuttle Buses - Kindergarten Only 

• LILA students ride ISD #831-FLAS secondary buses. Elementary-aged students sit in the front seats of the bus near the driver. 
• Families will receive a mailing from the Transportation Department approximately one week before school starts each fall showing the assigned bus stop location and bus number.  
• Shuttle bus numbers will be assigned to students by the LILA Transportation Coordinator. 
• MORNING: Students transfer from their home bus to a LILA designated shuttle bus at the middle school. The shuttle brings them directly to the Kinder Center. 
• AFTERNOON: Students ride the shuttle from the Kinder Center to the high school where they transfer to their home bus.
• At the start of the school year, LILA staff and/or volunteers are present to assist with transfers  at the middle school in the morning and high school in the afternoon. Younger children will be assigned an older elementary student Bus Buddy to assist them for the school year. 

IMPORTANT: Please make a bus tag indicating your child’s HOME and SHUTTLE BUS number and attach it to the inside front pocket of your child’s backpack.

• Vehicles must enter at the far west entrance and follow the lanes of orange cones around the entire parking lot. 
• Students may not exit vehicles until 7:25 am.  
• At the ‘straight stretch’ on the front/north side of the school, pull forward along the sidewalk as far as possible. Your child should gather their backpack and other items while in line, and  be prepared to exit the vehicle efficiently. 
• Stay in your vehicle and allow staff to assist children out of the vehicle, if needed. This ensures the drop-off drive through flows as quickly and smoothly as possible. 
• After your child leaves your car, exit via the driveway on the far east end of the lot, yielding to buses and pedestrians.
• If you need to get out of your vehicle for any reason, please park in the lot. 
   

Afternoon Curbside Pick-Up

• As with morning drop-off, vehicles must enter at the far west entrance and follow the lanes of orange cones around the lot. 
• You will be directed by volunteers and/or staff to form multiple lanes on the ‘straight stretch’ in front of the school. 
• Display your Silent Dismissal pick-up number in your front or passenger window. 
• To ensure the safety of our students, staff and families, always pay attention to your surroundings and follow the directions from curbside staff. 
• Pull up as far as safely possible in the pick-up line before loading. Your student will be delivered directly to your vehicle. Please be as efficient as possible when loading.  
• After your child is loaded, exit via the driveway on the far east end of the lot, yielding to buses and pedestrians. Please do not use the middle entrance for entering or exiting during this time.

Curbside Drop-Off & Pick-Up

• School buses will be given priority for entering and exiting. Personal vehicles will be directed to stop to allow buses to enter and exit.
• Drop-off - Follow the directions of the person directing traffic. We will have a staff member stationed at the entrance to the lot until 7:47 am.
• Pick-Up - If you arrive prior to bus dismissal, line up using the directed parking lane. Exit to the west with caution, yielding to pedestrians and buses.  
   

Driving to School 

• We have a limited number of parking spaces available. Parking passes are issued to students based on need and availability. 
• Passes may be purchased by semester or annually. The fee is $200 annually or $125 per semester.  
• PSEO students who attend one or more classes at LILA will be charged $20 per class. 
• The deadline to apply is typically late August. Watch the Upper School newsletter for details.  
   

To Request a Parking Permit

• Complete the online Application Request for Student Parking. If approved, you will receive an email confirmation containing:
• Directions to pay the parking pass fee in LILAPay;
• A parent permission slip to complete and return to the office, and;
• Instructions regarding where to pick up your pass.
• Student parking permit questions can be directed to the Upper School administrative office staff at 651-464-8989. 

Families attending Kinder Prep Preschool and/or living outside of the ISD#831-Forest Lake Area Schools boundaries are not eligible for busing services and are required to provide their own transportation to and from school. For liability reasons, LILA is prohibited from coordinating carpooling groups, but we have had great success with parent volunteers coordinating groups in past years. The Carpool Coordinator is a valued member of the LILA team providing a much needed service to our families.
