Graduation Requirements

Students must meet all course credit requirements and academic standards as established by the State of Minnesota and  Lakes International Language Academy School Board Policy 350 in order to graduate.

Students must successfully complete 24 high school credits, and demonstrate understanding of their related standards to be eligible for graduation. Coursework includes: 

  • 4 credits of English Language and Literature
  • 4 credits of Individuals and Societies, including coursework in U.S. History, World History, Geography, Citizenship, and Economics
  • 4 credits of Sciences, including coursework in Biology and Chemistry or Physics
  • 3 credits of Mathematics, including Algebra II, and coursework in Geometry, Statistics, and Probability
  • 1.5 credits in Physical Education and Health, including coursework in both disciplines
  • 1 credit in the Arts
  • 6.5 additional elective credits, including a Language Acquisition course each year of enrollment
